How to Ingredient Prep Rice
Do this if you eat a lot of rice but don't want to cook it every single time
Ingredients (~8 servings each)
🍚 Good ol’ white rice
2 cups white rice
2 cups water
💪 Higher protein white rice
2 cups white rice
2 cups chicken bone broth
🥬 Veggie rice
2 cups rice
1 3/4 cups water
1-2 cups chopped leafy greens (e.g., bok choy)
🫘 Multigrain rice
1 1/2 cups white rice
1/2 cup mixed grains (e.g., black rice, quinoa, barley)
2 1/4 cups water
Instructions
Wash and drain the rice at least 3 times. Add the water or bone broth. Start the rice cooker.
🥬 For veggie rice: ~5 minutes before the rice cooker is done, quickly add in the chopped veg and close the lid back up. After the rice cooker’s done, mix the veg into the rice.
🫘 For multigrain rice: Set the rice cooker on the multigrain setting, OR soak the grains for 2 hours before adding to the white rice and cooking as normal.
Let the rice cool to room temp. Portion it out into individual servings (I do ~150g each but the amount will vary person to person) and wrap in saran wrap or pack into freezer cubes. Store in the freezer for up to one month.
To reheat, place into a microwave-safe bowl or plate, and cover with a damp paper towel. Microwave for 1.5-2 minutes, or until fully heated through.
